Worlds largest indoor Van De Graaff Machine throws off lightning
i was out to photograph a tree that had come down during a recent storm.
as i was moving around, looking for a good shot, (which never came to be) i happened to look down and saw what i first thought was an acorn cap, then i thought it was a bottle cap of some sort.
then this little guy poked his head out to say hello!
this lovely praying mantis was perched out on the front steps one day.
had to hand hold the 400mm, so she (he?) is not as sharp as i would have liked.
but still a scary looking insect!
came out the house to grill one day.
as you can guess, dinner was late.
but this little guy wouldn't stop staring at me!!!

as a kid, mom always told me that a dragonfly would sew my lips shut, so for a LONG time, i was scared to death of them!
